Holly Fulton’s Burns Night…

As you’ll see in your Smythson diary, today (January 25th) is Burns Night, so we asked our recent collaborator, Holly Fulton, how she will be celebrating the second national day of her native Scotland…

“I celebrate by donning my Strathspey Highlanders pipe band hat, cocktail dress and finest regalia then toasting the Bard with a Bramble (a whiskey and jam cocktail). Then onto the main event with the address to the Haggis – to be done with a highly dramatic flourish and exaggerated stabbing of the beast! The meal is Haggis, neeps and tatties with oatcakes and extremely fruity Scottish cheddar on the side. Rounded off by Cranachan and fine Bruichladdich malt. Alternatively, some ales from the Black Isle Brewery to wash it all down. The evening is usually rounded off by a musical melange-a beady mix of The Proclaimers, Rabbie Burns and The Bay City Rollers all sung a capella and with gusto!”

How will you be celebrating?

Remember, there’s still a chance to snap up a Holly Fulton 2011 diary if you’re quick…
